Prime Apes

At the fringes of the humpbacked sky,
is a sphere untouched by alien barges.
A primeval jungle,
thick with trees,
choked with vines,
peopled with primates,
treetop hamlets,
and palaces of palm frond.
They sing little songs,
dance little jigs,
and wage little wars for proud little kings.
